Globalization has dramatically increased the pace of the world we inhabit today. The rush of new technologies has collapsed time into a perpetual state of “now” and increased the speed at which ideas and cultures circulate. The group exhibition, Time Inside the Image [2], looks at how contemporary Canadian artists think about and utilize time in their work. For some artists, the study and presentation of time has immense connotations. For others, time is related metaphorically to social, political and psychological concerns.

Through video and film installation, painting and performance, the artists whose works are exhibited in Time Inside the Image [2] use their creativity to investigate the changing cultural climate and its relationship to the individual. Collectively, these works stimulate a critical reflection of the world we live in as they dazzle our eye with their ingenuity.
