Events and Activities

As part of the Semaine Sherbrookoise des familles, The Foreman Art Gallery offers guided tours of the Exhibition for youth L'art est vivant and artistic workshops. This interactive activity will allow young people to manipulate organic materials and engage with art for the survival of the ecosystem. 

On May 12, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19, from 12 PM to 5 PM.

OPENING RECEPTION : MOTIF/MOTIVE - BUFF - THE MITRE

The opening reception of Motif / Motive, the 20th Fine Arts Graduating Students Exhibition, takes place on March 28, 2018 from 5 PM to 7 PM. In conjunction with the exhibition, the Foreman Art gallery presents the 2018 edition of the Bishop’s University Film Festival and the launching of the student-run publication The Mitre

ROUND TABLE ON VISUAL CULTURE IN ASTRONOMY

In the context of the exhibition PARALLAX-E the Foreman Art Gallery organizes a round table themed on visual culture in astronomy.

February 28, 2018 at 7 PM

Centennial Theatre Lobby (Bishop's University).

 

Invited Speakers: 

- Robert Lamontagne, professor at Université de Montréal and director of the Observatoire du Mont-Mégantic

- Jayson Rowe, professor at Bishop’s University and Canada Research Chair in Extrasolar Planet Astrophysics 

- Jean-Pierre Aubé, artist in art/science residency at Sporobole Art Centre, in collaboration with the Observatoire du Mont-Mégantic

- Bettina Forget, director of Visual Voice Gallery and artist in art/science residency at the SETI Institute.

MORRIS HOUSE READING SERIES

As part of the Morris House Reading Series, the Foreman art Gallery hosts the conferences of Shannon Webb-Campbell and Shani Mootoo. 

Shannon Webb-Campbell

Shannon Webb-Campbell is a mixed-Indigenous (Mi’kmaq) settler poet, writer, and critic currently based in Montreal.
