Week 1: Life of objects (June 25 - 29, 2012) : Discover the wonder and mystery of objects. Capture their stories and reveal their secret lives. 

Week 2: Up, up and away ! (July 02 - 06, 2012) : It's bird! It's plane! No, it's your imagination gone wild! Using memory, time and space we will travel to new artistic heights. Join us for this wild flight. 

Week 3: Local Treasure (July 09 - 13, 2012) : Our village is a treasure. Inspired by our urban landscape, discover the unexplored and forgotten spaces which surround us. These experiences will inspire multiple projects. 

Week 4: New ways of looking (July 16 - 20, 2012): Be prepared to be amazed! Uncover allusions, tricks of the eye, and experiment with new forms of perspective using sight and touch. 

Week 5: Media Lab (July 23 - 27, 2012) : Dust off abandoned riches. Just like an archaeologist, you will find new uses for old and recent technologies such as cassette tapes, numeric photography and records. 

Week 6: Colour my world (July 30 - August 03, 2012) : Which colour lights up your brain? Each day will explore the power of a colour and it's effects on our creativity. Unlock your imagination through multicoloured glasses.

Week 7: Artists-in-training (August 06 - 10, 2012): A special week for teens between 12 - 16 years old. We are opening the doors to our studio for sessions of experimentation. No matter what your knowledge of art is, join us for an exciting and interactive week of projects in three dimensions.

MARCH BREAK ART CAMP 2012

MARCH BREAK DAY CAMP - 5 art-filled days!

Sign up your child for full days of bilingual art activities during our MARCH BREAK CAMP from March 5th to 9th, 2012. Choose from 5 days of unique programs or join us for the entire week!

Choose from:

Monday, March 5th : Artist trading Cards: Examine superhero features from people within your community and around the world in order to help create your own superheroes (or villains!). Children will learn techniques of collage and appropriation, followed by graffiti and typography to create a series of artist carts to swap amongst each other.
 
Tuesday, March 6th : Dinner is served !: Children will transform the art studio into a banquet. Their work will be inspired by still life imagery, various types of gastronomy and cultural identities. A variety of techniques will be introduced such as : stamping, painting, paper sculpture making, and wire work in order to create unique table cloths and place mats. To add the finishing touch, a photo shoot will take place to record this unique banquet.
 
Wednesday, March 7th : Young Architects: In this program, the focus is on the exploration of urban, suburban, and rural communities. Students learn to take a new point of view on their daily environment and make new connections between visual material and its meaning. They will work in groups and individually to explore their existing relationship with their community and create new ways of representing spaces.
 
Thursday, March 8th : Turbo-drawing: This fast-pace drawing workshop gives the opportunity to explore various techniques and emotions in art. Inspired by the power of moving images, participants learn how to create 2D animation and explore a variety of drawing techniques.
 
Friday, March 9th : Me and my shadow: Children will learn to draw silhouettes and discover their importance within shadow theatre in order to portray astonishing adventures. They will discover the world of puppetry and performance.

Ages: 7 - 12 years old in a bilingual environment

Cost: 15$ per day/per child (or 75$ for the entire week)

Hours: 9am - 3pm

Daycare available for an extra 5$/per day in the morning and afternoon

Limited to a maximum of 15 children.

For children ages 6 - 12 in a bilingual environment

Choose from six amazing weeks of thematic programming. Each week explores new themes and new projects with a focus on exploring our cultural context. Themes include : puppet making, pop-up architecture, photo lab, nature art and much more!

Planet Friendly (July 4 - 8, 2011): From trash to treasure, breathe life back into discarded objects. Discover how to make things beautiful and useful again!

Wild Things (July 11 - 15, 2011): Turn nature into art! Explore the outdoors, its elements, vegetation and wildlife. Plant and grow your very own food!

Freeze Frame (July 18 - 22, 2011): Ready, set, click! Learn how to draw with light and see the world through a viewfinder. Capture magic on photography and film!

Strings + Shadows (July 25 - 29, 2011): Become a puppeteer! Learn a variety of puppet-making methods from shadow puppets to strings and stage your very own show!

Young Architects (August 1 - 5, 2011): Design, build and alter! Learn how buildings influence cultures through creative movement, pop-up architecture and model-making.

Wild Things II (August 8 - 12, 2011): Turn nature into art! Explore the outdoors, its elements, vegetation and wildlife. Plant and grow your very own food!

From Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm / Includes lunchtime recreational activities

$100 weekly cost per child      

Daycare available for an additional $5 daily fee: morning (7:30am – 9am) & afternoon (4pm – 6pm)
