Foreman Art Gallery / Community Art Lab / March Break Art Camp




The Foreman Art Gallery of Bishop’s University is pleased to present the 2019 bilingual March Break Art Camp for youth between the ages of 6 and 12. This one week of art activities offers boredom busters and creative learning opportunities for children. Each day offers new activities and themes, creating one week of exciting art projects. Parents are invited to register their child for the entire week or choose individual days, as they see fit. Join us for a creative journey this March break. 




Day 1

Monday March 4th: ARt RoCkS

The art of music! Campers will combine art with music to create projects that blend creative ideas that are both visual and auditory. Campers will spend their day creating instruments with the use of everyday objects with their own artistic touch!

Techniques: installation, composition

Day 2

Tuesday March 5th: Back to the Future

Blast into the future! With the use of recyclable materials, campers will explore and create their own version of the future through various projects. As well as exploring ideas of virtual reality and even A.I. engineering. They will investigate various artistic techniques while living in the future for a day!

Technique: Assemblage

Day 3

Wednesday March 6th: World Travelers

Get your suitcase ready, because you are about to see the world… through art! On this day, students will navigate through various projects, exposing them to a multitude of different cultures. This will include Japanese art, Native American tradition, and more.

Technique: Japanese One stroke technique.

Day 4

Thursday March 7th: Blast from the Past

Are you ready for time travel? We are going back in time to meet the masters! This day will focus on famous artists including Leonardo Da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, and Henri Matisse. Campers will learn numerous techniques from these artists while adding their own twist and creativity to their works.

Techniques: Composition, photo-referencing, perspective

Day 5

Friday March 8th: Colour me Rad

Want to have some red carpet treatment? Catch the green light? Because we are about to do something out of the blue! The most colourful day awaits you. Campers will dip into watercolour, experiment with vibrant oil pastels and explore how colours blend and work together.

Techniques: engraving, watercolour, oil pastels



  • The camp will run from Monday March 4th to Friday March 8th, from 9am to 4pm at the Community Art Lab.
  • Pre- and after- camp care is provided and included in the fee. It runs from 8 to 9 a.m. and from 4 to 5 p.m. 
  • Camps have a maximum of 20 children, led by two art educators.
  • All artistic materials are provided.
  • Camps are bilingual and children can speak in English or French with their educator.
  • Our daily schedule allows time to play outside.
  • Campers must bring their lunches and snacks. The Lab is equipped with a fridge and a microwave.
  • The Lab, the Gallery and Bishop’s University campus offer a secure, warm and caring environment for your children.



$30/day or $150 for the week per child

All art supplies and daycare service are included in the price. Payments must be sent with the registration form, which confirms your place.

Cancellation and Refund Policy 

If a day camp reservation is cancelled seven or more days before the activity begins, the fees will be refunded in full, except for a 50$ administration fee. No refunds will be granted for cancellations made fewer than seven days before the activity begins, unless the cancellation is made for medical reasons, in which case a doctor's note is required and fees will be refunded in full.
